Christmas came up rather suddenly this year, but it was great.
On Christmas Eve we went to my Oma and Opa's house for lunch where we had turkey beef (my favourite) and a whole load of other things. Like usual after our delicious meal we decided to have dessert much later. So we all headed downstairs to play our Christmas tradition games and to open our presents. I should add that this was the first year in probably more than 10 years that my family from BC was here for Christmas. So they were new to the games.
I was suprised to see that there was no Blatter Torte (not really sure how to spell it) for dessert, but little did I know my Oma had made about 8 for her 50th anniversary and there was a bunch more made by some of her friends.
On the saturday we celebrated my Oma and Opa's 50th anniversary at their church. It was a nice program with e-mails from Paraguay (which I couldn't understand), the children and grandchildren sharing memories, and seeing the years my oma and opa spent together. For dessert there was TONS of blatter torte with much left over.
Then on Monday my family packed into a 15 passenger van and headed to camp crossroads and on new years eve we had some more blatter torte. Thats the last of the blatter torte.
Camp was fun, I learnt how to play speed scrabble, which was played multiple times throughout the week.
When we made it up to Camp there was not a lot of snow there and I was kind of dissapointed, but it snowed that night quite a bit and we were able to go out on the tube run and play hockey on the ice rink. My brother was the only one with skates, but we were having fun sliding all over the ice for the puck. I was pretty bad at hockey, but I almost got my own goal, I had a little help.
It was a Blatter Torte filled holiday
and I hope you all have a Happy New Year!
